If Bangkok is a populated modern city with sky-scrapers, Chiang Mai is a more cultural and peaceful city in the North of Thailand with beautiful temples and traditional festivals, while Phuket and Pattaya attract tourists by azured beaches and white coastal sand.
Bangkok attracts millions of tourists coming to visit every year. This capital city is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. Although being the most thriving city in the country, Bangkok is still able to keep its cultural heritage proving by its large number of temples and other religious historical attractions. Located in the North of Thailand, Chiang Mai is lucky to have cooler weather than anywhere else with an average temperature of 25°C throughout the year. Chiang Mai is a city of imposing mountains, magnificent waterfalls, majesty rivers, hill tribe villages, and botanical gardens. It is also well-known for its stunning temples with class Northern Thai style and architecture. The greatest attractions of Chiang Mai for tourists are hill tribe trekking, river rafting, and elephant riding. Besides that, tourists can also join workshops at local factories to learn about the production of silk or silver, and shop for souvenirs.
The picture of the bow of a boat floating on azured pure ocean water has become one of the stereotypes of Phuket that maybe you have seen it somewhere before. Probably, a picture says everything about it already. But Phuket has much more than sea, sun, and sand. This island is a province located in the south of Thailand and is the biggest island in this country. Besides alluring surrounding beaches such as Rawai, Patong, Karon, Kamala, Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Mai Khao, Phuket has a large number of shrines that have architecture style influenced by Chinese. Since the Chinese population on the island is significant, a Chinese Vegetarian Festival is held here each year and many Chinese restaurants can be found around the city.
Situated just about 80 kilometers away from the capital city of Thailand, Chonburi is the nearest beach choice and is another amazing place for tourists who love beaches and sea views. It is a beach paradise with many magnificent beaches, such as Bang Saen, Pattaya, and Koh Lan, in which Pattaya is the most famous beach town in Chonburi province. Coastal towns of the province feature a wide range of accommodation from simple and affordable hostels to luxury resorts and 5-star hotels. Besides that, Chonburi has many other exciting local places to visit such as Nong Nooch Tropical Garde, Sriracha Tiger Zoo, Prasat Sajja Tham – The Sanctuary of Truth, Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Four Regions Floating Market, Koh Samae San, Koh Si Chang, and Mini Siam.
Located in the Northeast of Thailand, Ubon Ratchathani is a big province with an enormous number of intriguing and astonishing places to visit. For instance, Pha Team National Park is renowned for its antique rock paintings; the Grand Canyon of Thailand – Sam Pan Boak; the most beautiful waterfalls in Northeast Thailand – Huai Sai Yai; Wat Tham Khuha Sawan, Wat Phrathat Nong Bua; and Kaeng Saphuee Public Park. One of the local festivals that should not be missed is the Candle Festival on Khao Phansa Day. This is considered the most important event of Chonburi. Candles are carved lavishly and paraded across the city.
